Novak Djokovic: "I am grateful to my wife and children"

An important victory to emphasize once again that he is the best tennis player in the ATP Tour. Novak Djokovic also won the 2022 edition of the Nitto ATP Finals in Turin, beating the Norwegian Casper Ruud in the final. The Serbian champion was thus able to celebrate one of the most prestigious and important triumphs of 2022, together with, of course, the title won at Wimbledon.

During the press conference, the Belgrade native underlined the important role that the family has for him: "Extremely special for me. I am very grateful to my wife and children for coming. I don't often experience these moments during the tour with them, so obviously I try to enjoy them as much as possible "he declared in front of the media.

Nole's words

Then he continued: "I took both of my children, especially one of them, to tennis practice, warm-up and matches. He was very loud, I must say, and I was surprised. I could hear his voice all the time!

He was very involved. Both are now aware of what is happening, what the father is doing. They certainly make my life easier on the tour. The pressures, the expectations, the tensions that you normally go through in a big tournament like this, when they are there, subside a bit when you have that free time to dedicate to the family.

This really calms me down and gives me peace of mind to recalibrate and play my best tennis the next day. It was funny because I had a conversation with my wife the other day. It's great to have them around. She was like, this is too stressful.

She has been with me for almost 20 years in my professional career. It is a lot that she has to do with children around, entertain them, at the same time being there for me. I don't know for how many other tournaments I will have this opportunity to have them all.

I love these moments very much. Hopefully, as they grow up, they realize even more of the special moments we are experiencing together."
