Naomi Osaka moved the tennis world: she announced, through her Instagram account, that she was pregnant. The Japanese player's last season had disappointed many tennis fans and raised the alarm in view of her potential premature retirement, but the four-time Grand Slam champion found a way to reassure her fans in the message that she made her pregnancy public her.
Osaka played her last match in Tokyo last September, when she was forced to end her season due to an abdominal problem, and played eleven tournaments in 2022. Only at the WTA 1000 in Miami did she manage to reach the final; her final then lost against current world number one Iga Swiatek.

I know I have so much to look forward to in the future, one thing I can't wait is for my son to watch one of my games and tell someone that's my mom. 2023 will be a year full of lessons for me and I hope to see you all early next year as I will be at the Australian Open 2024.
