The Italian Open 2023, played on the Rome clay-courts, continue to move forward but in the last few hours there is great concern in the circuit. World number one Iga Swiatek, defending champion of the tournament, was forced to withdraw through injury in the Quarterfinals.

The queen of clay was the absolute favorite to win the tournament but now things are going badly, especially close to a fundamental tournament for Iga. Now there is great anxiety to know her conditions and the Polish wanted to try to reassure her fans through social networks.

The tennis player came out in the quarterfinals against the Kazakh Elena Rybakina, now officially entered the world Top 5. For Iga there is great anxiety and apprehension and there is fear that the tennis player might miss the Roland Garros, a tournament that will take place in ten days.

Swiatek in the lead in the quarterfinals was dominating against the Kazakh Elena Rybakina, then in the middle of the second set (6-2;4-2) the tennis player had a problem and stopped. She went on to drop the second set and retired 2-2 in the third set.
