Dana White and Francis Ngannou do not seem to be on good terms, especially after Ngannou has publicly expressed dissatisfaction with his current contract with the UFC. There has been a lot of controversy and debate about this, and Ngannou does not seem to intend to sign the contract.
Still, Dana White still believes he will make a deal with the famous Cameroonian
“He’s been in Cameroon visiting his family, so he’s supposed to get back here in the next couple of weeks and we’re supposed to get together.- White said, as quoted by givemesport “Listen, in the history of this company, the only guy that we’ve ever not signed was Fedor [Emelianenko].
“I mean, it’s the only guy we could never sign. “So, you know, I’m hopeful and confident that we can get a deal done with Francis”.
Francis Ngannou wants freedom
As we have already said, Francis Ngannou is not satisfied with what the UFC offers him, because he believes that with such a contract he does not have the freedom he needs.
Although Ngannou is one of the biggest faces in the UFC and someone who’s been one of the best fighters in the last few years, the UFC doesn’t really want to give up right now, and they believe Francis could be the one to eventually give up “You can be free and fight for the UFC.
“I just want to be free. We are supposedly independent contractors. [An] independent contractor is technically a free person. “That’s the reason why they need some adjustments in that contract. That’s what I’ve been fighting for.
The term of the contract, everything that they put into, they hold you in captivity. We will see how the situation develops, and whether the actors in this story make an agreement. What is certain; The UFC needs a fighter like this
