Paul Craig vs Volkan Oezdemir fight has been added to the UFC event to be held on July 23 (month 7) in London. Craig is currently on a great streak of four wins and has been unbeaten in his last six matches. Mauricio Rua managed to draw a draw, but exactly a year later Craig retaliated by beating him with a break in the second round of the fight.
In his last fight, he defeated Nikita Krylov when he strangled him in the first round with a “triangle choke” grip. On the other hand, there will be a former light heavyweight title challenger, Volkan Oezdemir, who despite defeats in the last two fights is still considered one of the most dangerous hitters on the UFC roster.
At the end of 2019, he defeated Rakic by a debatable judge's decision, and after that, he was defeated by a knockout from Jiri Prochazka and a judge's decision from Magomed Ankalaev. Most remember him for the knockout against Jimi Manuwa who eventually led him to the opportunity to attack the title.
He did not have a good time against Cormier, and since then he has recorded twice as many defeats as victories. Whoever wins this fight will be a step closer to attacking the belt, although as far as the light heavyweight category is concerned the line is really long.
There are primarily Blachowicz and Rakic who will be looking for a chance for the title in Saturday's rehearsal. Paul Craig is currently in eighth place in the UFC welterweight rankings, while one position behind him is Volkan.
In addition to the above, they are preceded by Dominick Reyes, Thiago Santos, Anthony Smith, and Magomed Ankalaev.
Topped by a clash of heavyweights in the form of Curtis Blaydes against Tom Aspinall, July 23’s UFC London card currently shapes up as follows: Curtis Blaydes vs.
Jack Hermansson vs. Darren Till
Molly McCann vs. Hannah Goldy
Muhammad Mokaev vs. Charles Johnson
Alexander Gustafsson vs. Nikita Krylov
Victoria Leonardo vs. Mandy Böhm
Paul Craig vs. Volkan Oezdemir
