The week before the big UFC PPV event that will take place this week, it traditionally opens with the UFC's "Countdown" video, and every day we will be able to watch shorter videos from the "Embedded" series.
Two belt matches and a handful of great fights await us on the night from Saturday to Sunday. Countdown" is actually the best announcement of the upcoming PPV event and offers us a good introduction to the fighters and the main matches that await us at the event.
Usually, there will be the three biggest matches covered. The main and title fights of the evening offer us belt fights, but the question arose as to what other fight the UFC will cover with "Countdown. Sean Strickland and Alex Pereira are fighting for the next challenger in the middleweight division and their match is scheduled just before the title fight of the evening.
However, the UFC has decided to promote Sean O’Malley who will fight Pedro Munhoz in the bantamweight category.
Israel Adesanya vs Jared Cannonier
Israel Adesanya and Jared Cannonier received the most attention. The two will lead the UFC 276 event, and it is a match for the UFC middleweight champion.
The 38-year-old Cannonier is not given too much of a chance to dethrone the champion, but Jared in "Countdown" seems calm, composed, and confident. He is currently in the "prime" of his career, and a better moment to attack the belt will be hard to come by.
Adesanya is, as always, extremely confident and ready to continue his undefeated streak in the middleweight division. The UFC also peeked into the preparations of both fighters, as well as some details concerning their lives outside the cage.
Alexander Volkanovski and Max Holloway perform in the "co-main" event, and they were also presented to the audience in a very high-quality way.
Khabib gave his input on the fight.
“About Holloway-Volkanovski, I must say I’m really impressed with Volkanovski about his last couple of performances,” Nurmagomedov told the UFC.
“I like Max Holloway. I like him. This is nothing personal, but I think Volkanovski’s going to defend his title. It’s a question: how? Who knows. But I see he (stays busier), fights all the time, experience – maybe experience.
Like a little bit more fire. I feel he has a little bit more fire than Max Holloway”. There is no point in talking too much about what is covered in the video because it is best to watch another great "Countdown" yourself.
