UFC president Dana White seems to have disappointed Leon Edwards after confirming that his next opponent will be Colby Covington. After such news, Edwards confirmed that he is not interested in the fight. Dana White reacted to Edwards' 'disinterest'

The UFC's main man understands Edwards and his ambitions but thinks Covington is the best option for him right now. “Listen, it’s not like I’m a big, ‘Oh Colby.’ – Colby Covington deserves this shot at the title,” White said, as quoted by MMA Junkie. “I don’t blame Leon.

Leon just got through Usman twice and now he’s looking at another wrestler now with a funky style that’s tough to deal with. When you become the champ, everybody’s coming after you. All the straight killers are coming after you for the next three times a f*cking year, you’re faced with nothing but the baddest dudes in the world in your division."

Leon Edwards vs Kamaru Usman

Edwards showed his dominance after winning twice vs Kamaru Usman.

The man who dominated for many years was defeated twice in a row. That speaks volumes about Leon's qualities. “If you look at Usman and what he did – Usman ran through that division twice. Usman’s one of the greatest of all time.

Leon just beat him twice. You’re the man, Leon. You’re the guy. And everyone’s coming after you, and it’s going to be Colby next”. White did not think long about whether Covington would be the next challenge for Edwards.

He also revealed the reasons why he thinks Colby is the best option at the moment. “That was a no brainer,” White said. “If Usman doesn’t exist Colby’s been the champ now for a while. He’s been there forever.

He cut the weight. He showed up to fill in for that fight and a million other reasons why he deserves that fight”.
