Paddy Pimblett reacts to Matt Frevola’s recent call out

The lightweight contender Matt ‘The SteamRolla’ Frevola boldly calls out Paddy Pimblett after securing a brutal 1st round victory against Drew Dober. He is on a strong 3 match win streak, and it will be very interesting to see if the matchmakers schedule a lightweight bout between the fighters.

Paddy Pimblett has already gained a lot of publicity, but he still needs to be ranked in the top 15 to propel smoothly in his thriving UFC career. It would be a crucial decider for both fighters, and it could potentially happen in the future once Paddy recovers from his injury.

Matt Frevola’s call out

Immediately after winning the match, Frevola was clear about what he wanted next and expressed it clearly in the post-fight interview. “Paddy Pimblett, you absolutely suck,” Frevola said, as quoted by mmajunkie.usatoday.com.

“Stop being a b*tch and let’s fight. You’re on a four-fight win streak. I’m on a three-fight win streak. If you’re in the UFC, you can’t pick and choose your fights. You’ve got to fight who the fans want to see you fight”.

Paddy Pimblett’s reaction

Paddy Pimbeltt reacted to the call out on Instagram by commenting back to his fans. Here’s what he said: “Bit of a weird time to call me out when I can’t even train, But (yes) I’d fight Frevola when I’m back, probably the easiest route into the top 15”.

“I’ll get back in the gym when I can pal, for now, the doctors have told me I cannot train”. Paddy Pimblett seems to like the idea of fighting Matt Frevola and could fight him next before the end of 2023 or early 2024.

He is still recovering from a tough ankle injury and has been advised by doctors to stay away from training. He came out of a controversial win against Jared Gordon, and a rematch with him is also a strong possibility in the distant future.
