Dana White speaks about the possibility of Jon Jones vs Stipe Miocic

The UFC heavyweight champion, Jon Jones, looks forward to fighting one last time before he retires and cements his name as the greatest of all time. Two things can stop Jones from retiring: A match with Francis Ngannou or a loss against Stipe Miocic.

His recent clash against Ciryl Gane was a display of total domination and smart work. Stipe Miocic beat Francis Ngannou in their first encounter, which is why the match against Jon Jones cannot be entitled as 'one-sided' Jones has fought many well-known opponents, and if he ends up facing Stipe Miocic, it will definitely be considered as one of his toughest tests yet.

Stipe 'stone cold' Miocic last fought in 2021, and his return is much awaited. He has a professional record of 20-4, and after Ngannou, Miocic is undeniably a worthy contender to face the heavyweight king Jon Jones.

Dana white on the potential heavyweight match

Dana White spoke about Jon Jones vs Stipe Miocic to Sports Illustrated and explained how Jon Jones looks forward to the match.

"Jon Jones, next, you know, obviously I'm pretty confident that Jon wants Stipe," White said as quoted by news-herald.com. He looks at Stipe as people look at him — as the greatest heavyweight of all time. And I think that's what Jon wants.

He wants to beat him convincingly. I mean, he's already the G.O.A.T., but to go down as the greatest of all time. And it'll be very hard to break his record if he does do it". If Stipe Miocic fails to win, he could be expected to fight Ciryl Gane, and that is also a terrific heavyweight match up.

However, a win for Stipe Miocic will change the whole outlook of his career, and it will be like snatching everything away from Jon Jones. Miocic vs Jones is being aimed for November, and when that match gets officially confirmed, all UFC fans will celebrate.
