The undefeated UFC fighter Tatiana Suarez will be moving down from flyweight to the strawweight division and is going to fight the top contender Virna Jandiroba. The news was confirmed by sources from MMA Junkie. Both fighters have already fought once this year, and it will be very interesting to see how they perform in their second showdown of the year.

The match is expected to take place on August 5th at an unnamed UFC event; more details about the venue and fight card can be expected to be disclosed in the upcoming days.

Both fighters fought Carla Esparaza

As far as professional records are concerned, Suarez is 10-0, and Jandiroba is ahead in terms of experience as she has a record of 19-3 and is currently on a 3 match winning streak.

Tatiana Suarez took a 4 year break and recently fought against Montana De La Rosa. She was successful in extending her winning streak by submitting her opponent in round 2. Tatiana Suarez and Virna Jandiroba fought Carla Esparaza, but Jandiroba couldn’t convert her performance into a victory and loss to her via unanimous decision.

This is not Tatiana Suarez’s first attempt at competing in the strawweight division; this is the weight class in which she has fought the most; however, showing up at flyweight was something new. Jandiroba aims to fight the UFC strawweight champion Zhang Weili, and a win from here will definitely set her on the path of getting a chance to fight for the belt.

She spoke about it after her last match against Marina Rodriguez. “If they need someone for (women’s strawweight champion Zhang) Weili,” Jandiroba said, as quoted by mmajunkie.usatoday.com. “I don’t have anything better to do, so I’m up for it.

(I) only got seven days (medical suspension) from the commission, so I’ll be good to go very quickly. In less than three months, we will find out if Jandiroba can put Tatiana Suarez’s undefeated career to an end.

Whoever wins on August 5th will doubtlessly increase their chances of getting a title shot; this match is a crucial decider and promises to be super-entertaining.
