Khamzat Chimaev seems to be willing to fight against opponents from the welterweight division and the middleweight division. However, out of all the fighters he has verbally addressed fighting Kamaru Usman and Israel Adesanya the most.

Both the fights are equally exciting and we can expect Khamzat Chimaev to show up in the ending phase of 2023. The middleweight champion Israel Adesanya seems to have an event booked in Australia so its unlikely to see Khamzat Chimaev fight him.

Chimaev himself looks forward to fighting in Abu Dhabi so it wont happen this year, however Israel Adesanya and Khamzat Chimaev will definetely clash at some point in the future.

Khamzat Chimaev’s thoughts on fighting Israel Adesanya

Khamzat Chimaev believes he has what it takes to put a full stop to Israel Adesanya’s career, he speaks about fighting him on his YouTube channel.

Moreover, he thinks that the UFC does not want to see Israel Adesanya lose. “For Israel, there’s nobody there – only me,” Chimaev said, as quoted by mmajunkie.usatoday.com.So if you spoke about money, if you ask the fans, they want to see me and Israel.

I’m a bad matchup for him. Everyone knows he’s going to lose the title (to me). That’s why they save that guy”. “You know they built up him,” Chimaev further said. “They don’t want to lose him that fast.

(I’d) finish that guy without punches, and that’s why they’re scared. Then (his) story’s dead, you know? They don’t want to kill that guy. Maybe the guy makes money for them, but I still make money, as well, so I don’t know what’s going on.

Khamzat Chimaev is yet to make a return inside the UFC octagon, he has taken a long break from fighting and the MMA world is eagerly waiting for the UFC to announce an opponent for him. He can be expected to fight in the welterweight division and it can be against the former UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman.
