On June 10th, the MMA world will find out the next contender to get a title shot; the thrilling match between the former lightweight champion Charles Oliveira and Beneil Dariush promises to be a competitive knock, and the winner is expected to clash against Islam Makhachev later on this year.

It would be unfair to assume that the match is one-sided in anyone’s favour; both fighters are different and eager to secure a victory. However, as far as the betting odds are concerned, Beneil Dariush opened as the betting favourite.

The lightweight fight is less than two weeks away, and the press conference will soon be scheduled; it will be interesting to hear the fighters speak about the fight.

Beneil Dariush’s thoughts on the upcoming match

Recently in an interview, MMA Junkie Beneil Dariush revealed his plan for the match against Charles Oliveira.

Even though he wants grappling action, his primary motive is to win the fight dominatingly. “An opportunity to have this fight on the ground,” Dariush said, as quoted by “I’m actually really looking forward to that because you see him submit so many people, and you wonder how good his jiu-jitsu is.

But then at the same time, you see him lose when he shouldn’t lose in the grappling, so I’m really looking forward to getting my hands on him and getting a feel of his grappling”. Beneil Dariush does not want the fight to be competitive since his last match against Mateusz Gamrot was a close one; he wants to end up being totally dominant so that there’s no room for doubts or doubters.

“The focus of this fight is to be perfect,” Dariush further said. “Personally, the way I see it is domination. I plan on dominating this fight. I want to remind people. because I think my last fight was kind of close.

… The fight will be an absolute domination, is what it’s going to be. I will do what I plan to do, and there’s nothing he can do to stop it. That’s what I hope for”.
