Dustin Poirier received the famous sleepy mac chain from Jake Paul in 2021, shortly after Poirier’s trilogy match against Conor McGregor. The sleeping Conor McGregor chain was apparently worth a $100,000 dollars. 2021 was the year when Jake Paul and Dustin Poirier got to know each other better; Poirier was also present in the arena for Jake Paul’s match against Tyron Woodley.
A lot happend in the past few years, The Problem Child has decided to fight one more legendary MMA fighter, Nate Diaz. Most people believe that it is going to be a one-sided showdown in Paul’s favour, and Dustin Poirier somewhat believes the same and explains why he thinks Jake Paul has the edge over Nate Diaz.
Dustin Poirier’s thoughts on Paul vs Diaz
Recently on The MMA Hour, the top UFC contender Dustin Poirier shares his thoughts on Jake Paul vs Nate Diaz and highlights the strengths Jake Paul has as a fighter. “Man, Jake’s younger, bigger, faster — it’s not an easy fight,” Poirier said, as quoted by mmafighting.com.
“Just because Nate’s a grizzled veteran with the right experience, and Jake’s a new guy who’s on YouTube — he’s got the money and the amenities to surround himself with the best people and dedicate himself to fighting, and he’s younger and more explosive.
And I think Diaz’s boxing is good for MMA — it’s a completely different thing. It’s a completely different thing”. Dustin Poirier was meant to fight Nate Diaz in the UFC ring, but due to an injury, the scheduled fight between the two got canceled.
Poirier will be fighting against Justin Gaetjhe in July, and the winner will claim the BMF title – which Nate Diaz failed to claim against Jorge Masvidal in 2019. On August 5th, all the doubts will be cleared as we will find out if Nate Diaz can prove how great his boxing abilities are; he has trained with highly-experienced boxers and in a few months, we will get to witness Nate Diaz’s fighting skills in the realm of boxing.
