The featherweight contender Daniel Pineda does care about winning, but his primary motive is to secure large fortunes in the form of bonuses and earn up to his best. Pineda fought against Alex Caceres and lost the match as the judges declared Caceres the winner by unanimous decision.

A loss usually decreases the chances of getting a bonus unless, of course, the fighter performs spectacularly. Daniel Pineda will look forward to displaying great performances in the future matches, as that will bring him closer to his goal of achieving bonuses.

He does not have faith in the judges, which is why he prefers finishing matches in dominating style; however, he failed to do that yesterday.

Daniel Pineda’s thoughts on getting bonuses

In an interview with MMA Fighting, Daniel Pineda expressively spoke about the motivating factor that drives him to fight.

He positions bonuses over rankings and is pleased with the fact that he is featured in a co-main event. “I don’t get paid to go in there and leave it to the judges,” Pineda said, as quoted by mmafighting.com.

“First of all, half the judges don’t know what they’re doing. They go the wrong way and s*** like that. I train to finish. You go in there to beat that guy. There’s only me and that guy in there. So one of us is going to leave that b**** with our hand raised and the other one is going to leave crying.

That’s it. “You’ve got go in there and give everything you have. Don’t leave it to the judges”. He was looking forward to getting a bonus from yesterday’s match against Alex Caceres; unfortunately, he couldn’t convert his performance into a victory.“The rankings, it’s cool, but we’re going out there to put on some exciting fights and get those bonuses, now that I’m co-main event, it’s even a better chance at getting that goddamn bonus”.
