The recent lightweight battle between Charles Oliveira and Beneil Dariush was explosive, and Oliveira showed how hungry he was to claim a victory; the win was nothing but a statement revealing that he is coming back for his lightweight belt.

The prestigious UFC lightweight belt was won by Charles Oliveira after his victory against Michael Chandler in 2021. Michael Chandler watched Oliveira vs Dariush and was thoroughly impressed by Oliveira’s dominating performance.

After securing a victory against Dan Hooker, Chandler got the opportunity to fight for the vacant UFC lightweight belt; he won the first round and almost finished Charles Oliveira but to everyone’s surprise, Oliveira finished Chandler in the second round.

Michael Chandler was one step away from earning the belt, and that loss put him ten steps behind, which is why he recently shared that he’s looking forward to a rematch with Charles Oliveira.

Michael Chandler on Charles Oliveira

Recently the lightweight contender Michael Chandler reacted to Charles Oliveira’s recent win in detail, congratulated him and shared that he wants to fight him at some point in the future.

“Guys, Charles Oliveira is an absolute savage,” Chandler said, as quoted by mmajunkie.usatoday.com. “Charles Oliveira vs. Beneil Dariush; Dariush on a long win streak, Charles Oliveira obviously with a ton of fire still in his belly wanting to get that UFC title.

Charles Oliveira showed up under the brightest lights, the biggest opportunity, a title eliminator to get him back to a title shot. And it remains to be seen if he will get the next title shot against Islam Makhachev, but the way that he fought Saturday night at UFC 289, the dude looks like he is coming back for that title”.

He further said: “I hope to share the octagon with him again, eventually, I would like to run that one back, obviously. But the way he looked that night against Dariush (at) UFC 289 was absolutely masterful. Hat’s off to you Charles, God bless. See you at the top”.
