UFC 295: Jon Jones vs Stipe Miocic officially announced

UFC fans are in for a treat; one of the best heavyweight matches has officially been booked; Jon Jones will be defending his belt against Stipe Miocic on 11th November at the renowned venue Madison Square Garden. Stipe Miocic has been inactive for more than 2 years, his return was much-awaited, and this is unquestionably one of the toughest tests of his career.

Stipe Miocic (20-4) last fought against Francis Ngannou for the rematch and was sent to the canvas unconscious in just 2 rounds as Ngannou was successful in violently knocking him out. As far as Jon Jones is concerned, this will be marked as his second appearance; he first fought against Ciryl Gane, where Jones easily submitted Gane before the end of the 1st round.

This could be Jon Jones's last match

The UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones (27-1) recently revealed that this could be his last UFC match because he believes that he has done enough in the sport and there's nothing more to prove; after retiring, he looks forward to spending quality time with his family.

However, one thing can get Jon Jones out of retirement, and that's a confirmed match with Francis Ngannou, who left the UFC and has now joined the PFL. Dana White is not interested in crossing paths, but never say never anything can happen – the recent faceoff between Francis Ngannou and Jon Jones pleased the hearts of many fans who are desperately waiting to see the two heavyweights clash.

Stipe Miocic beat Francis Ngannou in their first encounter, so challenge-wise, it would be fair to say that this is also one of the toughest fights in Jon Jones's career. If Jon Jones retires and is successful in defending his belt, the 1st ranked heavyweight contender Sergei Pavlovich will be next to fight for the vacant belt.

Can Stipe Miocic shock the MMA world and defy all odds stacked against him? We will all find out in about 3 months' time from now.
