The tough loss against Jan Blachowicz still seems to haunt Aleksander Rakic, who is yet to make a return. Rakic has been inactivity for about 1.5 years due to an injury; he will return by next year. Watch the stoppage below:
It was not a proper win for Jan Blachowicz as Rakic had to stop because of the knee injury, not a knockout.May 14th, 2022.

Aleksander Rakic has a professional MMA record of 14-3; he has only lost twice in the UFC. Blachowicz recently fought the former middleweight champion Alex Pereira and faced a tough defeat; a rematch between Aleksander Rakic and Jan Blachowicz seems to make a lot of sense, and it will be interesting to see if the UFC gives Rakic an opportunity for vengeance.
Rakic wants the rematch more than getting a title fight, yet he wants everyone in the top to know that he’s coming for the light heavyweight title.
Aleksander Rakic on fighting Jan Blachowicz
Recently, on Sirius XM’s Fight Nation, the 5th ranked lightheavyweight contender Alexander Raic shared his thoughts on fighting Jan Blachowicz for the rematch.
"If you ask me which fight I would love the most if it’s not a title fight, I would love to run it back with Jan because the chapter is not closed,” Rakic said, as quoted by mmajunkie.usatoday.com. “I was in the best shape of my life and I really didn’t lose the fight because he was the better man on that night.
Rakic further said: My coaches are telling me, ‘Alex, you beat yourself.’ For me, this chapter is not closed. But we will see what the UFC wants.I need to remind the guys at the top that I’m still here and that I’m potentially a guy who’s fighting for the title”.
