Colby Covington has been a tough challenge for almost all his opponents; he is one step away from snatching everything away from Leon Edwards. Daniel Cormier believes Colby Covington has an ‘x’ factor that has allowed him to win thus far, as he thinks he does not have any skill distinctly different from other fighters in his division.

Cormier seems to be awestruck with everything Colby Covington has accomplished in his career so far. Covington can foresee himself as the new champion; he strongly believes that he will win against Leon Edwards on 16th December.

In exactly one week’s time, we will find out if Colby Covington can walk his talk. Interestingly, Covington is interested in fighting as a middleweight contender; perhaps after securing 2-3 comprehensive wins, he could take this major step.

Daniel Cormier on Colby Covington

Recently on Joe Rogan’s Podcast, Daniel Cormier shared his thoughts on how Colby Covington has won fights until now. “I believe for everyone we watch in this beautiful sport that we have the honor of calling, no one has done more with less than Colby Covington,” Cormier said, as quoted by mmajunkie.usatoday.com.

“He’s not the biggest, he’s not the fastest, he’s not the strongest. But, he wins. With those abilities, he has become a two-time NCAA All-American, he has been the UFC interim champion, he’s fought for the belt two times, and he’s fighting for the belt another time.

Cormier further said: “But nothing about Colby jumps off the page. He’s meat and potatoes. As meat and potatoes as it gets. Volume and cardio, but that all comes with hard work. He’s not going to jump higher than anybody, he’s not going to run faster than anybody.

But with his abilities, he has done that. That’s crazy. We have seen many people like this that don’t accomplish what Colby Covington has accomplished”.
