Leon Edwards finally faced off against Colby Covington in the press conference; it was absolutely heated. It is quite evident that the two fighters have no respect for each other. Belal Muhammed will be ready to step in if Edwards or Covington pulls out.

The UFC has promised Belal Muhammed a title fight next; interestingly, Colby Covington said that he wouldn’t fight him because he finds him a racist. Covington would rather fight opponents from different divisions like Sean Strickland.

Leon Edwards, on the other hand, does not rule out fighting Belal Muhammed; he is ready to fight him next. They have unfinished business as their previous fight was called a ‘no-contest’ because Edwards accidentally poked Belal Muhammed in the eye.

In those 2 rounds, Edwards landed more shots and was dominating more. A rematch will be very interesting for all fans worldwide.

During the recent media day, Leon Edwards shared his thoughts on fighting Belal Muhammed and explained why he would fight him again for the rematch.

“Maybe,” Edwards said, as quoted by mmajunkie.usatoday.com. “There’s many guys that have been the backup for other cards and didn’t end up fighting for the world title.Let’s say on Saturday night one of the other guys do like a mad, standout performance, maybe the UFC will skip Belal and put them in.

So who knows? But you’ve got to fight them all anyway, so whoever comes first, it doesn’t matter. If I have to fight Belal, I’ll fight Belal, I feel like I’ve proven I’m way better than him anyway just from that one round.

If he’s next, I’ll happily engage it and it’s fine. I believe I’m going to fight them all anyway, so why not fight them all as a champion?”.
