Ilia Topuria is least interested in fighting Paddy Pimblett at lightweight if he wins against Alexander Volkanovski. Topuria doesn’t want to fight Paddy Pimblett because he has not made it to the top 15 lightweight rankings, and apart from that, Topuria was not impressed with Paddy’s recent performance against Tony Ferguson.

Topuria believes Paddy Pimblett is still a beginner. Ilia Topuria has made it very clear that he won’t defend his belt against any of the top featherweight contenders. He isn’t interested in fighting Sean O’Malley either, which makes his next fight a mystery to solve.

Recently on The MMA Hour, Ilia Topuria explained why he won’t fight Paddy Pimblett or Sean O’Malley next. “A lot of money? With Paddy?” Topuria said, as quoted by mmafighting.com.

“Who gives a * him? I take every fight as a professional. I look to all my opponents as a professional, but with him, it’s personal. If I see him in the supermarket, I’d smash him right there. He’s not even ranked.

Did you watch his last fight? It was embarrassing. His last fight was embarrassing. The level he showed in that fight, that’s embarrassing. He looked like a beginner”.

“Listen, he has a lot to prove in his weight class, he’s fighting with No.

6 guy in the ranking, who whooped his ass in the past. I don’t think he’s going to beat ‘Chito.’ I think ‘Chito’ is going to beat O’Malley. But even if he does, he has a lot to prove in his weight division.

After me smashing Alex, I’m the money fight, you will see. Everyone is going to start calling me out, because I will be the money fight. I’m not going to need any name, any weight division. I will be the money fight”.
