Mikaela Shiffrin on 6 races in Beijing Olympics!

Mikaela Shiffrin, a very strong and beautiful US skier, is certainly the most anticipated star of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics. Shiffrin has already won two golds and one silver in her two previous participations in the Winter Olympics, between Sochi and PyeongChang.

The women's alpine skiing program begins on Monday 7 February: the American could write a new page in the history of skiing, participating in all possible races, for a total of six races, as she confirmed to US Ski and Snowboard.

She said: "There aren't many reasons why I shouldn't make the descent, unless the schedule changes and fatigue starts to play a big part, becoming a security risk. The parallel is a possibility at this point. We are trying to confirm which athletes intend to stay until the end to play it.

However, we have a lot of people in the team and I want all my teammates who have come here to live their moment. We recall that she is a specialist in technical disciplines, but has proven to be competitive even in fast ones, so much so that she is among the seven female skiers with Petra Kronberger, Pernilla Wiberg, Janica Kostelić, Anja Pärson, Lindsey Vonn and Tina Maze able to win in all five specialties and the only one able to do it in six, with the parallel slalom.

She holds two Olympic titles (special slalom in Sochi 2014 and giant slalom in Pyeongchang 2018) and six world championships (special slalom in Schladming 2013, in Vail / Beaver Creek 2015 and in Sankt Moritz 2017 supergiant and special slalom in Åre 2019 and combined in Cortina d 'Ampezzo 2021).

In her palmarès she also boasts three general World Cups, a supergiant World Cup, a giant slalom World Cup and six special slalom World Cups.

Lindsay Vonn on Mikaela Shiffrin

Lindsey Vonn talked about her countrywoman Mikaela Shiffrin, who will be one of the star of the Beijing Winter Olympics, defining her capable of going to medal in five disciplines.

Vonn said: "I really expect him to get a medal in every event he competes in, because he absolutely has the ability to do it - the 37-year-old confided to Reuters - He's skiing exceptionally well, maybe he didn't have enough consistency this year.

Obviously he is natural considering the tragedy she has had to face, I think these will be fantastic games for her. I think Mikaela is aware of her possibilities and of what awaits her in Beijing - she adds Vonn her - she is one of those athletes who can really make a difference at the Games."

Shiffrin will make his debut tomorrow Monday 7 February 2022 in the giant with the arduous task of defending the Olympic gold won in Pyeongchang four years ago. Vonn refers to the tragic death of Shiffrin's father, Jeff, who passed away exactly two years ago.
