Brock Lesnar left everyone speechless in the last episode of SmackDown, which marked his umpteenth return to WWE. The Beast showed up in the ring to continue his feud with Roman Reigns, after the 'Tribal Chief' easily got rid of Riddle.
Brock wasted no time, immediately inflicting a very heavy F-5 on Reigns. Lesnar then lashed out at the other members of the Bloodline, reiterating that he had warlike intentions and did not want to take prisoners. The two will face off in a 'Last Man Standing match' at SummerSlam, the most important pay-per-view of the summer.
Some insiders have criticized WWE's choice of relying on Brock Lesnar again, but injuries to Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes prompted the company to fall back on safe second-hand. In the latest edition of the 83 Weeks podcast, Eric Bischoff expressed his point of view on this topic.
Eric Bischoff sees the bright side
"I know that Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns have faced off a myriad of times and that yet another chapter of their rivalry doesn't drive people crazy. It does not matter. If the same Brock we had admired for years and years had returned to WWE, I would have agreed.
We had already seen everything about him: ruthless, one-dimensional, no promo and so on. This is a different character. He enjoys it when he steps into the ring and is no longer anchored in Paul Heyman. He is recording several promos and manages to thrill the audience.
This cowboy look suits him a lot and has created a different atmosphere around him. We've seen Reigns vs. Lesnar, but I am convinced that this time it will be a different match," he added. Eric also spoke of the McMahon case: "I was speechless when I heard the news.
I would never have thought of a goodbye from Vince, even if temporary. Regardless of how this affair ends, there will be negative repercussions on the company. I am especially sorry for Bruce Prichard, in fact I sent him a message a few days ago."
