On July 31, 2022, what was called Ric Flair's Last Match was staged, an event within the event, in fact it was part of the long weekend of Summerslam also in Nashville, but under Jim Crockett Promotions together with the bigger event Starcast V.
We told you about the match through a small report, telling you exactly what happened during the main event in detail and then giving you the results of the whole card, since there were other matches to surround this challenge.
In the match, Nature Boy himself risked so much given his physical and medical situation, so much so that even Ricky The Dragon Steamboat refused to face him despite having been offered to be his opponent.
Ric Flair: "I'm begging for another match"
Now, the Nature Boy has turned his attention to his latest Last Match and made an impassioned plea on his podcast To Be The Man, saying: "I pray that I can do it again.
I'm begging because I've told 100 people, 'How do I forget to drink water all day?' That's all that happened to me. Did you see me. I drank five beers right after," referring to the fact that he was dehydrated, which is why he didn't think it went well.
Flair then went on to explore the issues of the match itself explaining: "I can think of a lot of things that I messed up and things that I would like to change in matches. I just know it could have been something really wonderful.
You know, I happened to be dehydrated. I don't know how I could have made this mistake because you know how much work I have done with Lethal. We had it all figured out, and we had so much more to do. God, that would have been great."
