Chelsea Green made her return to WWE after a stint spent wrestling between independent companies, IMPACT and NWA, during the Royal Rumbe 2023, later remaining fixed on the WWE main roster with a new character, that of Karen.

The figure of Karen is well known in the United States because she, broadly speaking, is the type of white woman who always goes to places to complain about anything, always asking to be able to speak to the manager. Speaking with Ryan Satin on Out of Character, Chelsea Green confirmed that she had re-signed with WWE months before her return at the first pay-per-view of the year: "I liked it," she said of her return and short time in the Rumble.

"I've been waiting to find out when my surprise return will happen, for months. The Royal Rumble was perfect. Just the way the whole day was put together and those five seconds will live on forever. I think it was the perfect way to come back."

When asked if the delay was due to him trying to figure out which character to bring to the ring, Green replied: "I think so, and a question of, When is the perfect opportunity to throw her in? Let's find a way to surprise the people, and maybe they know it's going to be at the Royal Rumble, but like, they'll never know.

I thought it was perfect." The wrestler continued by saying: "The first month was amazing because the first month I was very busy before signing for WWE and I was still trying to do the laundry, do the dishes, have a house, you know, keep the I get on with my life.

The first month, I was like, this is great. I'm getting paid, I know they're going to bring me back, and I'm able to think about what I'm going to do when I get back' putting my life together as well. The second month, I was like, 'Definitely, this is the month.

I intend to make my return. I know what I'm going to be and who I want to be and the gear I want to wear.' By month three, I'm like, 'What the hell is going on? I need to debut. I started getting anxious."
