Iga Swiatek

Iga Swiatek is a Polish tennis player, considered one of the strongest tennis players of her generation, who won nineteen WTA titles in her career, including four Grand Slams: 3 Roland Garros and one US Open. She won the WTA Finals in 2023. Iga got into tennis to emulate and compete with her sister, and at 14 she was training regularly at the tennis academies in Warsaw. She was coached for a long time by the two compatriots Piotr Sierzputowski and Jolanta Rusin-Krzepota, whom she replaced in 2021 with the new coach Tomasz Wiktorowski.

In April 2022 she reached the 1st position in the WTA world rankings. She was the first Polish tennis player, and the first in the world born in the 21st century, to have won a Major in singles and to have reached the top of the women's world ranking. Between February and June 2022 she won a streak of 37 consecutive matches, the 12th longest winning streak ever and the longest of the 21st century on the WTA Tour. In the same period she triumphed in six consecutive WTA tournaments, a feat achieved only by Justine Henin in the new millennium. That same year she became the youngest tennis player to win the Indian Wells and Miami tournaments in the same season.
