John Tavares

John Tavares is a Canadian ice hockey player, first overall pick of the 2009 Entry Draft chosen by the NY Islanders and since the 2018-2019 season he has been playing in the National Hockey League with the Toronto Maple Leafs. Tavares is considered a player with excellent offensive instincts and has a fantastic ability to find open spaces in the offensive zone.

He has a phenomenal stick game and has a top-notch finger by NHL standards. John is not one of the best skaters but he is very explosive when he enters the offensive zone. After spending five years with the New York Islanders, Tavares signed a seven-year, $77 million contract with his hometown team Toronto Maple Leafs on July 1, 2018. He made his debut with the franchise the following October 4, in a 3-2 overtime win against the Montreal Canadiens, also scoring a goal.
