Damar Hamlin

Damar Hamlin is an American football player who plays as a safety for the NFL's Buffalo Bills. During his sophomore season in 2022, Hamlin collapsed on the field and subsequently suffered cardiac arrest after making a tackle. He was given cardiopulmonary resuscitation and transported to hospital. Making no movement, the trainers and paramedics rushed in within 10 seconds. First responders administered cardiopulmonary resuscitation and performed defibrillation on the field for ten minutes.

Hamlin was then placed on the stretcher and the ambulance arrived on the field, while most of the players from both teams left the sideline to kneel beside and near Hamlin. After being transported to the University of Cincinnati Academic Health Center it was reported that the athlete was in critical condition and was intubated. On April 18, 2023, the Bills announced that Hamlin had been medically cleared to return to professional play.
