Colin Farrell

Colin Farrell is an Irish actor.  In 2022 he obtained public and critical acclaim for his performance in the film The Banshees of Inisherin, with which he won the Golden Globe for best actor in a comedy or musical film, the Volpi Cup for best male performance, the National Board of Review Award for Best Actor as well as nominations for Academy Award for Best Actor, Critics' Choice Awards for Best Actor and two Screen Actors Guild Awards for Best Motion Picture Actor and Best Motion Picture Ensemble.

He is best known for his roles in Minority Report (2002), Daredevil (2003), Miami Vice (2006), Dreams and Murders (2007), In Bruges (2008), Seven Psychopaths (2012) , The Lobster (2015), The Sacrifice of a Sacred Deer (2017), The Deception (2017) and The Batman (2022). In television he is known for his role as Ray Velcoro in the anthology television series True Detective (2015). In 2005, after filming the film Miami Vice, he voluntarily entered a rehabilitation center. In an interview for the British magazine GQ, he talked about the causes that led him to detox, including abuse of cocaine, ecstasy and alcohol. In July 2006, Farrell filed a lawsuit against Playboy model and former lover Nicole Narain and the Internet Commerce Group (ICG) over the unauthorized distribution of a sex tape he shot with the model in 2003.
